Being Slow-Chased by a Brass Pin Eyeball

A back porch at night. There is a red door on the left with a window, and another window next to it. There is a gray stucco fence on the right, delineating the backyard boundary, bushes lining the ground level and trees from the other side overhanging. The trees are silhouetted by the night sky, turbulent and dimly moonlit. Rounding the corner of the back porch is an eyeball surrounded by brass pins. The brass pin eyeball is slowly rolling towards the viewer’s perspective.

I am in a house which has a backyard, and I am being followed slowly by someone. I don’t know what they want of me, but I don’t want them to catch me. As soon as they show up in my space, I change rooms or go outside (or back inside).

At some point, this person turns into an eyeball surrounded by brass pins. The eyeball is in the center of the pins, which themselves are forming a sphere. The pins aren’t sticking in the eyeball itself, I’m not sure how it works. The pins are mostly obscuring the eyeball, but I still see glimpses of it. The whole structure is about 3.5-4 ft tall. It rolls after me, in the house and in the backyard, slowly, but persistently.

There is another person (or people?) in the house, and I am discussing this eyeball with them. I finally decide to just let the thing catch me. I don’t remember what happens when it does. [end of dream]

Waking research:

I looked up the brass pins surrounding the eyeball, they are called Escutcheon pins (the flat ended kind, not the pointy kind).

Escutcheon definition: A flat piece of metal for protection and often ornamentation. A shield or emblem bearing a coat of arms.

This dream has similar themes as my Space Armillary dream (brass structure surrounding a spherical central object) and my Eyeball in an Aquarium dream - it may have been the same eyeball.
